Adding the SRA Digital Badge to your Law Firm’s Website

Been asked to add the SRA Digital Badge to your law firm’s website?

Have you been told that your law firm’s website is not compliant with the SRA Transparency Rules because it doesn’t show the SRA Digital Badge?

The badge, also known as the Clickable Logo, is a mandatory requirement and failure to comply with the rules may result in a penalty from the SRA.

What is the purpose of the SRA Digital Badge?

Image for illustrative purposes only.

The main purpose of the Digital Badge is to show your website’s visitors that you are a law firm regulated by the SRA.

Once the badge has been clicked on, it will redirect your visitors to a verification page and confirm that you are regulated. Moreover, it will provide a link to information on the protections that apply.

Displaying the logo in a prominent place of your website will help you differentiate yourself from unregulated providers which in turn may help you generate more leads.

If an unregulated firm tried to display the badge on their website, the verification page would show the visitor that they are not regulated by the SRA as the badge is provided via smart software which makes sure only regulated law firms can display it.

How do I register my law firm’s website on the mySRA portal?

In order for the digital badge / clickable logo to work on your law firm’s website, you will need to have registered it on the mySRA portal.

The good news is that this is fairly straightforward!

Logging in to mySRA Portal

Before attempting to add the logo to your website, log in to your mySRA and enter your website address or double-check it is correctly recorded. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to the mySRA portal

Step 2: Click on ‘My Organisations

Step 3: Next, click on your Organisation’s name, then Office details

Step 4: Select Edit on the relevant office

Step 5: Update your website and click save.

The SRA advise that you allow at least 24 hours after updating your law firm’s website’s details before you attempt to use the digital badge.
